On 10 October 2023, KEGOC received an approval of the environmental impact assessment prepared as part of the feasibility study of ‘West Kazakhstan Electricity Interconnection Project. Construction of Power Grid Facilities’.
According to the conclusion of the Environmental Regulation and Control Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the report was recognised as compliant with environmental legislation. In the future, when implementing the project, the company will comply with a number of requirements regarding environmental impact during construction and operation of power grids.
‘West Kazakhstan Electricity Interconnection Project. Construction of Power Grid Facilities’ was initiated by the Head of State and is aimed at ensuring energy security and energy independence of the Western regions of Kazakhstan and improving the reliability of power supply to consumers in the Western zone.
