On May 1, 2023, the thermal power plant of MAEC LLP (Mangistau Oblast) underwent emergency shutdowns of power units, resulting in an electricity shortfall.

Power unit No. 3 with a producing capacity of 128 MW was shut down in an emergency at 13:24 (Astana time).

Unit 2, with a capacity of 160 MW, was shut down in an emergency at 17:38.

The consumption of industrial firms connected to MAEC LLP will be limited during the emergency repair of the power units.

Energy delivery to the households will be prioritised.
